At Love for Change Women’s Foundation, we are committed to empowering women and driving positive change within our communities. In July, 2023, we conducted a Needs Assessment in the Bariga and Oworonshoki communities of Lagos, Nigeria, reflecting our dedication to understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by women.

This initiative was aimed at gaining deeper understanding of the gaps and needs of women in these communities and provide insights on Lagos state generally. With a focus on women and young girls aged 15 to 60, we collected first hand primary data that would inform our future empowerment strategies. Through targeted questions and indices, we aimed to identify areas where support and intervention are most needed.

80 women actively participated in the survey, offering their valuable insights and sharing their perspectives on the challenges they face. By engaging with the participants directly, we aimed to capture a comprehensive picture of their needs and aspirations.

The questions in our survey were thoughtfully designed to shed light on the specific challenges and needs experienced by women in these communities. Through open-ended responses, the participants provided detailed insights into areas that require focused attention. The findings highlighted areas such as education, healthcare access, skill development, and economic opportunities as key focus points for intervention.

Moving forward, Love for Change Women’s Foundation is deeply committed to using the insights gained from the Needs Assessment survey to guide our future actions. By understanding the unique challenges faced by women in these communities, we can tailor our programs and initiatives to address these needs effectively. We believe that through targeted empowerment, education, and support, we can contribute to a brighter future for these women and their families.
