What began with grassroots philanthropy and community outreach has evolved into a growing platform focused on education, STEM and digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, financial empowerment, mentorship, leadership, and economic opportunity. Today, we work to move beyond addressing immediate needs toward creating pathways that help women and girls learn, build, earn, lead, and thrive.

- OUR STORY
Love Was the Beginning
In 2014, our journey began at the grassroots with a food outreach to vulnerable people and girls living in extremely difficult circumstances.
During those early outreaches, we encountered girls who were living on the streets and caught in situations involving sexual exploitation and drug trafficking.
We believed their circumstances did not have to define their future.
With love, support, intervention, rehabilitation, and opportunities, we believed lives could take a different direction.
Our response went beyond providing food. We supported efforts to help girls leave the streets, access rehabilitation, and begin the journey toward a different life.
From there, many food outreaches followed, reaching underserved communities and families.
Our Back-to-School outreaches also became a core part of our work, supporting underserved children with educational materials and practical assistance across different communities in Lagos, Nigeria, and beyond Lagos.
Over time, our grassroots work expanded to include Christmas campaigns, support for widows, single mothers, vulnerable women and girls, children and families, educational material distribution, and other community-based philanthropic initiatives.
We began placing greater emphasis on quality education, STEM and technology, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, mentorship, leadership, practical skills, networks, and economic opportunity. Our goal became not only to support people through difficult moments, but to help create pathways toward greater confidence, capacity, independence, and long-term transformation. Our founder’s own journey of transformation also shaped this conviction. Having experienced transformation in her own life, she became deeply convinced that people can change when they are given the right support, opportunity, and environment. That belief continues to guide LCWF today.
