Technology is changing how we learn, work, communicate, build businesses, and solve problems. As these changes continue, access to STEM education is becoming increasingly important — particularly for women and girls who have historically faced barriers to entering and advancing within STEM-related fields.

For LCWF, STEM education is not only about teaching technical skills. It is about expanding what women and girls are able to imagine for themselves and giving them access to the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities needed to pursue those possibilities.

Through InnovatHER STE(A)M, LCWF creates opportunities for women and girls to engage with STEM, technology, innovation, and future-focused skills. The programme includes learning experiences such as the STEAM Bootcamp and InnovatHER Workshop, designed around practical exposure, skills development, and opportunity.

The importance of this work extends beyond the classroom.

When a young woman gains access to technology and develops confidence in her ability to solve problems, build, create, or innovate, she gains tools that can influence her educational and professional journey. When those opportunities become more accessible to women and girls, they can contribute to broader participation in the technology and innovation ecosystem.

But access is only one part of the equation. Sustainable empowerment also requires continued learning, mentorship, community, and pathways to opportunity.

That is why LCWF approaches STEM education as part of a larger empowerment journey. The goal is not simply to introduce women and girls to STEM, but to help create the capacity and access that can support their next step.
